Student Success Statement

“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”

Well I don’t know much about ships but I do know that without a rudder the ship can’t go anywhere. And this is such a good comparison because without a goal in life there is no point in living. The whole point of living is to look forward to your life and so something that you love but keeps you busy at the same time.

Student Success Statement

If there is beauty in character,
there will be harmony in the home.
If there Is harmony in the home,
there will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation,
there will be peace in the world.
Conclusion:
If there is beauty in character,
there will be peace in the world
Chinese Proverb

This means that doing something has an effect on something else. This whole poem is just technically about beauty and peace in the world.
“The Six Pillars of Character”
Trustworthiness
is honest • don’t deceive, cheat, or steal • be reliable — do what you say you’ll do • Have the courage to do the right thing • Build a good reputation • be loyal — stand by your family, friends, and country
Respect
Treat others with respect; follow the Golden Rule • be tolerant and accepting of differences • Use good manners, not bad language • be considerate of the feelings of others • don’t threaten, hit or hurt anyone • Deal peacefully with anger, insults, and disagreements
Responsibility
Do what you are supposed to do • Plan ahead • persevere: keep on trying! • Always do your best • Use self-control • be self-disciplined • Think before you act — consider the consequences • be accountable for your words, actions, and attitudes • Set a good example for others
Fairness
Play by the rules • Take turns and share • be open-minded; listen to others • don’t take advantage of others • don’t blame others carelessly • Treat all people fairly
Caring
be kind • be compassionate and show you care • Express gratitude • Forgive others • Help people in need
Citizenship
Do your share to make your school and community better • Cooperate • Get involved in community affairs • Stay informed; vote • be a good neighbor • Obey laws and rules • Respect authority • Protect the environment • Volunteer

I believe the Six Pillars of Character are very important. All of these traits will help you in life. They are used to teach good character and are composed of six ethical values everyone can agree upon. The Six Pillars of Character values are not political, religious, or culturally biased

“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”

Sophocles

This quote is saying that you should choose the right no matter what. Even if it causes you to lose or to fail at something at least you did it with honor and not by cheating. The message it I s trying to get across is that you should never cheat no matter what.

2. Memorial Day started as an event to honor Union soldiers, who had died during the American Civil War. It was inspired by the way people in the Southern states honored their dead. After World War I, it was extended to include all men and women, who died in any war or military action.
3. Monday, May 25
4. Parades, volunteer, highlight solder’s stories, collecting for troops, discounts and free offers, etc.
6.  More than 36 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home this Memorial Day, It’s legally required to observe a National Moment of Remembrance
7. I don’t really celebrate Memorial Day, but I will watch the parade on TV and if I see any solders thank them for what they do for everyone.
